thought about changing my build again.

how does this sound.
i have a 347 stroker kit, if it doesn't sell i will just use it for this build.
i was thinking the 347 ported g40 heads from thumper and a custom cam to idle like stock but more aggressive, and then a turbo to force air down it.

i know the heads are restrictive but it should still make nice power any ideas on what it would make? i figure around 10-12 psi

If you want sleeper, just build my old combo:

418 cid
TFS TW
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Lunati 51017
Swap shorties and STOCK exhaust

It idled pretty much like a stock Mustang and made 347rwhp/442rwtq naturally aspirated. The car was a blast to drive because of all the torque and had excellent manners. :)

that is alot of torque. i bet the combo had well over 300 tq above 2000rpms

Shit, I bet it had 350+ tq at the wheel by 2k rpm. Hell my little 342 combo makes 300+ by 2200 rpms now.

The dyno sheet is:

The torque was very flat as soon as you matted the throttle, and stayed there until 4000 rpms when it started to fall off a bit. Although the car didn't make a ton of power (although 347rwhp n/a isn't too bad) all the torque in the low end made it a blast to drive on the street. I really enjoyed it.

it really shows when they say "302 parts make 302 power" its very evident the motor has motor potential but the way it sounds you wanted a fun street car and not a drag oriented car.

so as far as my combo sounds do you think it would be fine? i know it has a 302 block splitting power but will it fit my "sleeper" goals?

Yep - that's why I tell EVERYONE that intends to build a big motor that they NEED BIG HEADS AND CAM. You can see that my motor pretty much ran out of air at 4500 rpms, stayed flat for a while, then fell off.

Since you already have the 347, just get Cammotion or Ed Curtis to cut you a camshaft, throw the turbo on it, and have a blast. Turbos don't need big cams AT ALL to make power, so it will be quiet and make a ton of power. Just take it easy, watch the tune, and keep the revs sane and it should live a long happy life. :)

Don't forget if your gonna run boost on a stock block go ahead and put the valley pro girdle on it to keep the block from splitting. With the bottom end fortified and the valley pro girdle in place, a stock 302 can handle up to 650 hp. That's alot of power for a street car.

well that girdle will hold the pieces in place when it falls apart. It'll still split the lifter valley at around 500 hp it'll just be held together better. doesn't really strengthen it too much.....found out the hard way

Save the money on the upper girdle, you already have one. The lower intake manifold.
