Bringing this back from the past! Good stuff in here!! I'd love to try this unfortunately there is nowhere remotely close to me that offers anything like it. Great pictures though and from the looks of the video I'm sure it's a blast!!

It certainly is! And I'm rather lucky to have access to an actual Formula D course, and know people who make their own stuff specifically for mustang's drifting. I need to have the other thread moved, since that ones more of a build thread LOL. I'll have some pictures and video after this weekend, sundays time for a shakedown with the new setup finally :D

Well, couple events on the new pretty much complete front end setup done now. Had one test day, however it was raining. Did my first competition this past saturday, and I'm both really pleased and really annoyed with how it went. The car had a stupid amount of grip since it ended up being really warm and I was on basically brand new tires all around, I was basically able to full throttle the entire course minus transitions.

So, practice I get used to the dry and the huge amount of grip and feel comfortable.

Move on to qualifying, first run was shit, I think I took out a couple cones running wide coming off the bank. Second run felt alright, I felt it could have been better though.

Went to watch a few friends qualify and left the car alone in the pits. Come back, front tires flat, find a big hole in the tread where air was audibly coming out. ****.

Drivers meeting gets called with the qualifying results, I'm expecting somewhere in the middle since I wasn't too happy with my run. Qualified 2nd in my first competition ever. I'm *##&ing blown away.

Anyways, had family there cheering me on and one of them ran the tire to discount to try and get it patched since I still had to drive obviously. Friend lent me his Cobra wheels with BRAND NEW tires on them, sweet.

Since there was 29? qualifyers, and I qualified 2nd, I end up getting a bye run from 32 straight to top 16. Did the run on the cobra wheels, felt pretty good surprisingly considering they still had the adhesive from the stickers on them.

Get a call that they can't fix my tire, well oh well. Oh, did I mention I also found a gash along the side wall where it was just barely cutting into the K-Member? Yeah.

Top 16, I'm against a pretty good driver, but I'm feeling confident. First run, made a correction but felt pretty solid otherwise. Second run, I honestly feel like it was one of the best runs I have EVER put down, super high on the bank, nailed the clipping points, pretty much full lock through the course..... aaaand I feel the tire catch as I go to transition into the last corner, hop, hop, BANG. Tire caught so hard in the K-Member it actually ripped a hole into the side of it. I gave my buddy two of my gold wheels as compensation, still amazingly kind of him to even do that knowing it might have happened after seeing the cuts on the other tire.

Ended up getting knocked out because of this, and I was pissed because of how good it felt. Still, not too mad because I feel for my first time doing competition I did amazingly well, beat my own expectations.

So, plan currently is just to get some smaller tires, and notch out the k member so I shouldn't have any more problems. Other then that the car performed flawless and I've got a good feel for it now and I'm super excited for the next round.

Here's some pics guys!

Yeah, factory K-Member just since if I ever get to a higher level of competition, changing mounting points is illegal which a new k member will do, so I don't plan on swapping it. However I can cut the hell out of it, which I'll need to do. Took a look at it today and its like someone took a hammer to it in the spot it caught LOL

Thanks man! I'm excited since I finally ordered my first ever set of new wheels, it should be pretty awesome I think, and something a bit different on a mustang. And they have like 5 inches of dish, they're gonna be sweet.

You just gotta get good with this one, then build another cage'd car with a pretty body. There's a couple stupidly clean 240's fairly local to me that always stand out at shows and I see them tandem at the local drift spot occasionally, at least once a year at driftmas. Nothing sicker than two beautiful cars sliding side by side.

Rallim, this thread needs more pictures!
Cmon instagram superstar!

LOL, its funny because a few friends have given me shit for being "instagram famous" now. And let me wait until some media comes out jeez.... like today.

I ended up finishing in the top 8 this time, bit of an improvement even with struggling with the car all day. I went out in a tandem battle at least, and I did the best I could with maybe 4 tandem runs practice earlier in the day. Sitting 11th overall even with missing an event currently, so not too bad.

Tandem is awesome, that is all.

1UZFE V8 swapped corolla chasing me down, he got close enough I could hear his car over mine

I told Mike I was going to use him for practice, which thinking about it was a good choice because we both drive our cars the same. I had quite a few people come up to me and tell me I was getting damn close for my first time ever tandeming, I think I got three runs in with him during practice so this was with almost not tandem experience. Also this is by far my favorite photo I"ve got yet

Also, e brake is probably the next thing on list. Its a definite need for tandem. Anyone have any rear calipers/caliper plates for sale? I need a pair of both
