Smaller fuel tank possible???

Could it be possible that our cars came with a smaller fuel tank than a 14 gal?? Cuz when I fill up on E I can't ever get more than 12 gallons to go in

our tank if memory serves me right is either 15.4 or 15.7 gal i think. Your needle may be off which IMO i would rather it be off on the + side then to be stuck on the side of the road. You could do a Fuel Cell if you wanted to but it would be a PITA to do.

I have that same problem, when slightly past the E it'll fill up with 12.4 gallons

I'm pretty sure some of that 15 gallons is part of the reserve capacity. Its probably around 2 gallons or so; just enough to hopefully get you to the gas station.

mine has 13 gallons if I fill the neck.

I run mine down into the red on the V6 all the time, And it only takes 13.6 at times... Its 15 gal total

I made a thread just like this. I ran my car down to E to many times. Filled her back up and the pump clicks off @ like 10-11 gallons. If i keep forcing it... it spills out

The day I bought my GT it was just below the red line as I was test driving it. Made it home (18 miles), Idled and turned it off. Went to start it the next time and it was surging. The needle was way beyond red at that time.

PS: I saw this thread and wondered why would anyone want a smaller tank? Lol..
