I need to change the exhaust manifolds on my sn95 3.8. The manifold itself is good but the flanges that the pipes bolt to are rusted and burnt away to almost nothing. There is no room to get a split flange up in place and welded so they need to come off and be swapped out. I need to take the strut tower brace off, then the airbox, do I need to remove the starter to get the right side off and a replacment back on ?? The nuts on the manifold are pretty much distorted with heat and rust, not going to go easy, the left side appears to have more room to work and the manifold bolts are in much better condition

What year is the vehicle. I was able to do them on a 1999 without removing the starter.

I think you would still be able to do it. I do not recall if the Sn95 V6's are as prone to manifold issues as the new edges are. The A/C drips on the manifold causing it to crack on the passenger side.
