I am just wondering... as a GT owner, I am always so envious of Cobra owners...
You ditched the Cobra for an L. Are you 100% happy with the decision, and why?
Is the L more fun than a Cobra, or did you just want a change...
I'm asking, mostly out of curiosity, but also because I've been trying, off and on, to convince the husband to get an L (in addition to the stangs), and because it seems like alot of people are or are wanting to trade the stangs in for L's...

Well I had my snake for over 2 years so I had gotten use to it, so parting with it was no big deal for me. Now on the L, I have wanted one since the new ones came out way back in 99......but I could never afford to get one, until NOW. So thats why I jumped on the one I have, as far as what I like more .......the L hands down. For anyone that has never rode in one, you have to experience it to see just how bad ass these trucks are. Mind you it IS A TRUCK, not a 3400 lb mustang.......but they flat out fly epically for being a NEAR 5,000lb boat anchor. They ride VERY well for a truck, sit comfortably, have a butt load of power and TQ.....and look sweet as cherry pie :naughty:

I love mine and dont forsee me getting rid of it ................I DO want another stang ( fox body ) but I would not trade my L in on one. I understand the desire for the Termy Cobras and even to the extint of taking one of them OVER a L, but the satisfaction of having a high 11 / Low 12 second truck is greater for me than having a 11 second Cobra --- but hey thats just me ^-^ If you have never rode in one you got to take a ride in it and your HOOKED. Lord and DONT make the mistake of getting in one that has a few boltons, like a pulley swap / CAI/ shift-kit/ and a tune.................YOU WILL be trading in your stang then ;D ;D ;D

Oh yea my ins was cheaper on the L too and its a 04 Model compared to a 99 Cobra O0

Thanks Brian, I've been wondering. And I haven't been in one, but am hoping to! :)
(I screwed up by telling the husband if he gets one I can mod it and take it to the track, lol).

Well I can tell you I just spent 1k on my package from LFP / 500 on the stage 4 ported eaton / and 400 on my Bassani catback and im going to be around 450rwhp and 500-550rwtq thats pretty damn good dollar for performance considering all my parts are BRAND NEW other than my blower and this is on a stock long block with a automatic trans. With good air and a well prepped track its possible to crack 11's with what I have on the L now ( I still need suspension mods though - - traction bars and a driveshaft loop )

Just for reference my stock dyno was 351hp/417tq

Think I'll just keep that info to myself and tell him I want one cause they're pretty, lol.

he he ;D ;D it doent take crap to make them really haul :ass3: you can buy USED parts on the classifieds on SVTP or Nloc.net and save over 50% compared to what I paid for my NEW stuff. I spent 2k on mine and you can get the same parts for half of that......you just got to be patient and keep looking for deals, they come ALL the time. I just wanted new stuff on mine ( its a quirk of mine :dunno: ) but the used stuff thats been taken care of is just as good. Take a ride in one and youll be :-* with it. Then let the modding begin >:D

Ive never rode in one but there are a couple that go to our local track (E Town) on Wed nights. One guy has a whites one looks almost identicle to yours Brian. He does 10.90  Always gets a bunch of "holly shit's" out of the crowd lol. I think the Lightnings are one of the best kept secrets of the SVT crowd. ;)

Lol, thanks Brian. Think it's him that I have to get to ride in one, then I'll let him convince me we need it.

Lightnings are cool, i only had mine for about a year but i really liked it. At that time it was my DD and i needed something with more room and MPG so we traded it on a car. I did think they were coming out with a new one in 05 but they didn't :(

Ls are cool because you can run 11s at the track, then go to Lowes and haul home a load of lumber :)
