So I raced my friend in his new 4 door wrx. We first went from 45mph up to 100 and then from a dead stop to 70. Yeah I got shitted on both times. I'm kinda upset and want vengence. What to do to beat him?Besides nitrous.

Well Gearing will help. You have a Vert so your heavier as well so some weight reduction will help. Besides the minor bolt ons (Exhaust, LTH, CAI, MAF, TB, Pullies) you can do a HCI swap and then you will (should) be faster.

Everytime I race one I just think how much more money they have spent on their cars. That is if your kinda stock. Even then I know friends who want to compare their new 350Z against my 95 Mustang and even if I loose I know at the end of the day I own my car and I absolutely love driving it. Well that and after my HCI swap even a new 370Z is just not enough....

HCI would be nice, gears would help, a good solid tune, exhaust, CAI. just some normal mods.

PI swap

My old 1993 Eclipse GSX I used to own with an upgraded turbo, front mount intercooler, 3inch turbo back exhaust, and a boost controller was shitting on Mustang's all day long... but my daily driveability and reliability suffered car used to run very high 11's with $3000 worth of mod's which I could do the same with my SN but I just bought my car because of it's sound and good looks :)

With your mods it looks like you are down @ 50 hp if its a STI and probably only 15-20 if not STI. Weight is in the ballpark as us maybe less by about 100lbs. The AWD is what kills on the street....

Heads/Cams and sticky tires should help you out tons.... some 3.73/4.10's would also get that car going better than the 3.55's.
