i saw this single turbo rb20det 240 sx.....thought it was just another import with light mods and what not...(it was) but any ways...some dude in an 04 gto supercharged pulls up and says..."wanna race ricer?"...guy with the 240 said "idk dude i think you might beat me" so the 04 gto keeps trash talking the 240 but the 240 remained humble. so they finally line up to race....light turns green and the 240 pulls 7 cars lengths on the gto before it even hit 3rd...they come back and the gto dude had not a word to say.....i aksed the guy with the gto how much he spent on the car plus all the work he had done to it ..he said 15k...i asked the same ? to the guy with the 240....he said 7k.....im thinking to my self.....7k can i can have a 600hp gto beater? idk lol just wanted to share the story..

Street racing proves nothing, bring both cars to the track to see who's faster. Also, how do you know the 240 was lightly, modded? I have seen MANY sleeper 240s/talons/eclipses/skittles/old school lancers from the 80s that run 12 seconds or faster. Did you actually see what the 240 had done? And as I said, street racing proves nothing.

yea he had a little scrap book and what not with him of before and afters with receipts he wanted to sell it. but they raced from light to light and the other light was well more then 1/4 mile away. i think that proves something..

Cool story, BUT if they were over 1/4 mile away, I would assume they would have surpassed third gear like you initially said. anything can happen on the street, traction, who leaves the light first, etc. Pointless really. +1 to what rice slayer said!

something to remember is gto's are heavy at around 4500 lbs. The 240's are like 2700 lbs so a 240 with a turbo should beat one. IMO GTO's are too heavy they dont handle great they put a huge motor in them and there not that fast. Kinda reminds me of our cars but at least the fine people at the blue oval started good with a 5.0 and many other parts that were succesful on the fox's.

so in over a 1/4 mile a SCed GTO prolly pushing over 500(depending on mutliple things) didnt hit 3rd gear? OR maybe he missed a gear, or 2. Or he just doesnt know how to run his car so he spun the whole time cuz hes on street tires?

I agree, street racing is for 1: dumb as fuck, and 2 doesnt always prove shit. Too many unknown factors...

And yes, the 240 is alot lighter, but 7 cars is kind of rediculous. Something is awry here

What was the final result of the race? Still the 240 by 7 cars? All im sayin is street racing is dumb as f*ck.. and something is a miss in the story here.. im not sayin the 240 couldnt beat the gto...

But spank it like he didnt know he was street racing? Could of sworn a blown GTO is not this slow. But wtf do i know.. absolutely nothing. :confused1:

240's can be fast cars. Who knows how much boost he was running? Some of these damn ricers are fast my boy shawn has a mazda wagon looking thing with forged internals and a bigger turbo and its quick. Not my cup of tea though. Those guys should take it to the track for real braggin rights, not to mention it would be alot safer.

And Yea you said it, dunno how much boost he is running.. So whats the limitation on a 240 before hes close to blowing something? Cuz if hes forged. Then thats not exactly lightly modded..
And I guess what im trying to say is still that theres something missing in the facts. Yea the 240 beat it. But truely is the 240 keeping some mods from everyone?(who the hell wouldnt if you could get away with it in a street race?) does the GTO guy not know how to drive? (They racing at night, and even in FL it gets cold and would effect DRs or purre summer tires) What are the actual specs on the cars ya know?

Guess im looking too far into the story or some bull

I call bs on the 240 pulling 7 cars on the gto before it hit 3rd. 240s dont have torque for shit to pull that far so quickly, I'm almost tempted to call bs on the gto being supercharged aswell. Stock 04 gto's only push 320 to the wheels and are heavy. That makes more sense than pulling 7 cars on a 500+ gto.
