A few years ago we moved into our home and since then i've made friends with the guy next door. car guy, pro mechanic, awesome dude. he's helped me diagnose and work on this 09 escape over the years. So he's always told me when i get ready to sell he wants it. He gets in a bind and really needs a car in the last couple months and that motivates me to get the wife in a new car. Literally the whole reason we bought a new car is because he wanted ours. I thought I was helping a guy out. His wife has it for the day, mentions it is kinda noisy, and so he took it to work today. He calls me up asking if this TSB was performed. I'm all "what TSB"?
then I find out that he's assumed I was the original owner this entire time.
so we both feel like jackasses. I already paid off my truck with the money he gave me so its gone and the whole reason we got a new car was to get him this thing, which he never ACTUALLY test drove.
he's not asking for anything, I actually offered to give him 500 back because its all I have on me, to which he replied it won't do him much good. so he doesn't want anything (which is good cause I don't have it) and just kinda ranted for a while and apologized for burdening me with this. I'm just like "shit man, of all the cars I've had and people got, nobody ever complained until I sell one to my next door neighbor".
so we got a new explorer and my 2016 f150 is paid off. he's kicking himself in the butt wondering how he's gonna get out of this thing, and I'm not fully convinced there is anything major wrong but I DO trust his judgment.
I just had to drop this somewhere because I honestly can't do anything and don't know what I would do if I could. What do you guys make of this?
