speaker hum

its starting to happen more and more :BangHead:....anyone else have a low hum in your speakers? I really dont know any other way to explain it ither. Think it has something to do with a bad ground

If the noise increases with engine speed,
There is a little tube looking thing with a wire coming out of each end mounted close to the coil. That's an ign. noise filter. Make sure the wires are not broken or pinched under the coil bracket.

ok great. Now as he said does the noise change freqs as you increase the throttle or is it just a background hiss that you hear between songs?

its goes with the throttle...yesterday we unplugged the wires to the amps and it hasnt hummed since. after research i think its alternator noise from a bad ground. Not for sure tho

ive had the same problem forever with the mach460. i have an aftermarket deck but the reason it seems to be whinning is bc the connecter for the audio, not the power, is broken and needs to be replaced. sometimes if i wiggle it just right, it will stop. sometimes the music only comes out of one side too. the whole thing needs to be redone.

before you get too far into it, there is a noise reducer that is mounted on the side of the coil in the engine. Folow the plug wire from the dist to the coil and there should be a small cap looking device mounted on the back of. Try wiggling it around with the music on and see if it changes anything.

I get a humming noise, but I think mine's a bad ground, because it goes away when I hit the driver's side kick panel in a certain spot lol.

its gone and hasnt returned yet after we unplugged the amp wires cleaned them up a lil bit so that might have done the trick and im not gonna mess with it
