My parents rock, they surprized the hell out of me and got me the set of MM springs I've been procrastinating getting for dam near 2 years now, and the Alpine head unit I picked out for my dad's Cobra when he wanted iPod integration.

The iPod integration on the Alpine is incredible and I bypassed the Mach amps and ran the head unit directly into the 2 harnesses on the right side of the inside of the dash. That sends the full signal directly to the 2.5" tweeters so I then went in, cut those wires and ran them directly to the main door and rear speakers which are aftermarket in mine. Sounds insane, for the first time ever there is some actual definition to high frequencies and the radio can drown out the exhaust note completely. Plus I got to take the Mach amps out and shave another little bit of weight.

Now the only question is how long it will take me to get these god dam springs on, I really want to get them in as quick as possible but I also wanted to get the BBK longtubes, 03-04 a arms, x2 ball joints, and seat extenders on yet they're all still in the god dam closet :wall:

Please could you tell me more? Excatly what wires did you cut 'n connect? As far as I understood left & right rear low-sound speakers are together and also left & right front low-sound speakers are also together both driven by rear amps separetly. All tweeters are connected to front amp. So this is one PITA to wire up for after market player unless you don't buy new amps.

There are 2 wiring harnesses behind the head unit on the right side that provide power to the head unit and connections to all of the tweeters, you wire the head unit into them with these harnesses...

http://cgi.ebay.com/1993-1994-1995-...g-Harness_W0QQitemZ230141354520QQcmdZViewItem

And then you have all of your audio bypassing the Mach amps %100 and going directly to all of the tweeters. That obviously sounds retarded so I just went in and cut the wires going to the tweeters, crimped connectors onto them, and plugged them into the main speakers which should be aftermarket if you're going through all this trouble. That allowed me to also yank all 3 of the Mach amps out to save a bit of weight :)

1.5 and then another half inch or so in the front because of the x2 ball joints, I can't wait!

The 9887 only shows 2 lines of text though which would be a total pain in the ass when scrolling through the billion or so artists in an iPod. Now that my 9886 is wired directly to my main aftermarket speakers, it sounds incredible and I really couldn't ask for much if any more.

Well I like the 9887 because of the true imprint sound manager capability it has.

I did my springs on my old Fox so I know how to do them, I just don't have room as I live in an apartment and I want my new 03 a arms installed with the x2 ball joints which I am not doing so I'm just having everything done by a buddy a few weekends from now.

That's true, I'm actually %100 happy with how this sounds through aftermarket speakers, my exhaust is so bloody loud that I wouldn't even be able to tell if this sounded any better with those extra adjustments :hammer:
