Hey all,

Well after much thinking and debating I have decided to keep my car as a V6, Now here the question?, I am looking into getting the Stage 2 power pack from SSM, Has anyone installed this setup and did you get the up tp 70Hp gain they say you get? I think this and a tune with some fuel mods is all I am gonna do for this motor. With this setup I should do better then a stock V8 to the wheels.. seeing as the 94 had 215 to the crank, this would put me equal or a little better with new injectors and a tune ( Maybe a better pump too). :dancing6: I will be doing a new rear end with gears and a new tranny some time after, I have checked as long as I am gentle wit the tranny she should be fine till the T5 swap.

What do you guys think???? BTW the car should be on the road by the end of the weekend :dancing6:

Thanks all

Don

no way it will give you 70 to the wheels, save our money and get a power adder and a splitport swap :thumb:

It says 75Hp, Not to the wheels.. PA's are expensive and I really like the idea of an all engine car all that piping under the hood means more crap to worry about LOL. I was thinking of finding a spare 3.8L and rebuilding it with the power pack, Might even bore it and stoke it. then just do a swap.

IDK.. I know at this point is i'm sticking with a V6.

thanks for the input thou :thumb:

the powerpack is expensive too. and especially if you decide to stay singleport you are gonna be pretty dissapointed with the gains unless you have some kind of power adder :nonono:

Yeh I know..

but I have been looking around and doing some research, and I am for sure gonna do a 4.3 stroker.. as for a PA i'm not to sure yet..
maybe a turbo, they seem to be a good choice and reliable too. I'm still doing the research so I'll see, its not something I'll be doing
till at least next year.. so I have time to look around.. :)

do you need to go with a Splite port to run a turbo setup?

no, but if you want to make good power its recommended unless you wanna spend a ton of money upgrading your singleport stuff that still wont flow as good

i had ssms build my 97 motor for me. I decided to go forged internals, pistons, 351w rods, stage 2+ heads, stage 3 intakes, cam, upgraded valves. I dynoed at 177hp and 206 torque (at the wheels or course), with a tranny that was crapping out on me.
ou dont need to go split port to run a turbo. I have a turbo on mine and am only running 3lbs of boost untunned. ran a 13.8 last weekend in bowling green. You can have your heads and intakes ported enough to flow more than stock split port.
If you decide to go with a pa just keep in mind it gets very expensive very fast. Its a good idea to just upgrade your whole drivetrain. I did and am happy with the product now.

Cool, see this is what i'm thinking, but I am gonna bore it out and stroke it to 4.3L then add the PP on top, this should give me a nice RWHP, I dont want the fastest car in my city, but something that has around 200 to the wheels would be fun to play with..Kk cool
Sounds like i've made he right choice, the next step would be saving the money :dancing6:

Thanks for all the input guys

If you do a split port swap you pick up 40 horses right there. Then if you build the motor and pp the heads and intakes you will pick up even more. Its all in what you wanna do. Theres really no right or wrong answer or suggestion. Just preference!

dont spend any money until you do your research on these two sites

www.3.8mustang.com

www.v6power.net

those are the smartest v6 guys around, they will have the best answers, post up on both sites and see what everyone says :thumb:

he he, thats where I have been looking, but for some reason my reg with 3.8mustang.com won't go though so I can't post.
but i won't be doing anything till i research everything, and I will be doing all this to a second motor.. so i can still drive mine till i'm rdy to drop it in.. So I can take my sweet time on the project, and do it a little at a time.. :) :dancing6:

Thanks

next year. I got it real cheap too.. :dancing6:
