So after I pick up my paycheck Im going to grad a set of starfishes on the cheap then Im going to sell my rims and rock the starfishes a bit to save up, then, here is where it gets interesting, Im sending in 2 wheels to have them widened to 10.5". I know I'll have to run spacers, but no one else will have a set and with what Im paying for the rims and tires I should come out about the same as if I bought a new set. This could be interesting. Ill keep an update on this.

Ill be sitting the same if I were to buy a new set of 17x10.5's and 17x9's. Just something different. Do you feel they will look bad?

they wont look bad, but they wont look right... i mean its one thing to keep them as beater winter wheels, but another thing to have as your best set of wheels... i just sold the set that came on my 00' all i liked them for was that they were light, and wide, you ould mount some drs on a pair, and go race.

look on craigslist, youd be surprised what youll be able to find for 300 bucks or so.

they will look like modified stock wheels which of course will earn you mad street cred, from what I understand.........

Im gonna assume sarcasm from ttocs, I had intended on just leaving them the brushed aluminum for a bit then possibly dong chrome, but seeing as how the general consensus is I may just end up saving my money since it seems to be a pretty shot down order.

Yeah like said above wheels are cheap.

I paid $250 for the set of pollished 04 cobras that are on the car in my sig... Albeit they needed tires soon, but I just went ahead and mounted the fairly new tires from my stock starfish rims on them...

I still think it will be a waste of money as i said in your other thread. You also have to remember you have to buy tires for them also. What bsn said look around you would be suprised what you can get. I am only asking 800 for my 03 machined cobra's with 10.5's out back with almost brand new tires and D/R's You won't be able to widen the starfish wheels and buy new tires all the way around for that.

you're not the first to widen out a set of starfish wheels. and you don't need to run a spacer, you can have weldraft or whoever you send them to get you the backspace you need.

And i think its a cool idea. Starfish wheels are the lightest factory mustang wheel and are stupid light. It would definitely be very sleeper look if your car actually can make some power and need bigger wheels.

Win your wheels sondgreat, but it would cost a good bit to have them shipped to me, and whatnot. I suppose Ill continue looking around and see what I can come about.

While we're on the topic I suppose Ill throw out another idea seeing as how yall arent afraid of telling how it is and I have no issue what with criticism. What if I picked up a set of 17x10.5 cobra r's similar to what I have from AM, and have them all powdercoated to match each other?

no seriously, I imagine you will have a conversation er two about them. You will need to explain why you did it more then anything, they how much and where it was done at.

Oh, well then well played my friend lol. I just think it would be different. Especially where I am from people all have saleens, or something like that. Plus the fact that I can get a set of starfish rims with decent tires for around$200 sounds kinda cool to me. If all else fails I could run a dr on them for track use since they are so light.
