the argument for the terminator was that bolt ons = fast, reliable, fairly cheap, light modifications.

a kb is not a light modification.
kbs notoriously run hot and require a very skilled tuner on the dyno.
kbs look like home depot supercharger kits.

stock or whipple. accept no imitations.

New Kb's are fine.. Whipples are overated. Hellion twin turbo kit ftw.

yeah, because turbo kits on mod motors are so reliable and easy to tune.
never any drive ability issues at all.

Captain Obvious senses Sarcasm... Hmmm.

We might need Hellion94 to jump in here, but i think i heard that their test car blew up within a week or something.....
could be wrong though.. The 03-04 cobras just look super mean, a presence to be acknowledged on any road..
I vote termi, if you have the cash.

My friend Brandon went from a whipple to the hellion tt and it was much less of a headache and the tune is easy to do if you have a clue and the software. People act like they are messing with a supercomputer... His car didnt have a single problem besides the tranny going out (but when your making around 900 what do you expect), he still drives it to our cruises on the 13 pound tune (ups it depending on what hes running), still beats most things on the street, then at the track on kill mode, he runs 33 with a simple push of a button. The car had a glide in it now without a good stall and he still went 150mph in the quater, full interior, full weight, with an 8 point mild steel cage on a 28 et street.

Whipples and Kbs have more heat, less efficient, not to mention belt slip and pulley swaps are a pita. Its nice to have a button to push to increase hp by a over a hundred. If you have the money, turbo is the way to go, the kits made today the average person with tools can put them on, retain the stock accesories and then have someone tune it for them or if knowledgable enough tune it themselves using sct datalogging and a laptop.

get a 2003 or 2004. a 1999 or 2001 cobra is nothing more than a mach1
Except its nowhere close to being a mach 1
I would definetly invest the extra money into getting a 03/04 cobra rather then the others. As previously stated, all you really have to do is just exhaust, lower pulley and tune and your pushing 500rwhp. My buddy has a black 03 with exhaust, lower pulley, tune and its 489rwhp

not one issue that he'll admit to, you mean.

turbos make great all out drag race applications, it's damn near free power. I'm talking in the real world where people have to drive their cars every day. let's see that thing cold start. or get caught out in the rain.

I work in a shop where heads don't even turn for 500whp street cars, everyone has one of those. And every turbo car I've ever seen has been a giant pile of steaming crap that constantly needs tune changes, tuned here or not.

Um yeah, ive been there along the whole way with his car, the whipple was far more problematic then the turbos. The only issue we have is finding the right stall for the glide. And the car has no driveability issues, it can be driven everyday on the 13lb pump gas tune and is driven almost daily in good weather.(not now because its 20 degrees the last week with rain/snow mix) Who do you know that takes out a 500 plus horsepower car in the rain on the regular basis, if so kudos to the them, but brandon keeps his shit clean and has a beater like most people do for those situations, how many wrecks do you see a year from people with high hp car on street tires or dr's in the rain, a ton.

And your right 500 doesnt turn heads with me either. Especially when two local twin turbo cars (that meet all your criteria you mention) put down over 900+hp through autos (one 'glide another th400).

Maybe people that come to your shop just build 500hp pos??? Kind of like dsms, you can build them up, but they go fast for a week then they break...
