i was hoping you'd test it out of the car so when vac is applied you could cycle the switch and make sure the sw was working properly. but since bypassed the sw entirely you applied vac to only the yellow tube and the vent didn't change, i would think the vac motor too. are you sure the vent isn't stuck? and could you get any of the other doors to operate when you applied vac to the red and blue tubes

Well today I installed a new switch, and still nothing...So I stuck my hand back through the middle vent and noticed the door was right there. So I pushed it open, and it wasn't even trying to open, but once I got it all the way open it would stay...So I examined that area, and checked for what was operating the door, and it looked like the solid thing that the yellow tube connected to had 2 wires with a connector on it DISCONNECTED...So I came back here and looked for a picture of that area because I can't tell how it goes on, I can't find anything... Does anybody please have an old heater door controller that they could take a picture of this connection????? I would like to get my dash put back together so I can drive my car, and I don't want to have to pull out the entire dash either...Thanks for the replies desert....

do you have a one man brake bleeder vacuum pump thingy. maybe you can hook that up to the yellow tube and test one tube at a time

like I said the door will stay open if I open it manually, but if I switch to a different vent it closes like it should...If I try to switch back to the vents like normal the door won't open....The other door works fine....I wish there was a way to put a vacuum straight on the motor with out the car running...Use a valve to control how much of a vacuum I pull, and see if there is a certain ammount of vacuum that is needed for it to operate correctly...I might be able to put something together with my shop vac, but I need a valve that would work with the small tubing, anybody use something like this before?

i think that brake bleeder would work for you. you can pick it up at a.z. or advance and i don't think it's very expensive. although it does not and a guage on it. if you kow someone that does hvac work. they might have a vacuum pump you could borrow.

Alright, thanks man...would a brake bleeder pump cost more than a heater door replacement, it's the whole box that controls both doors for the heater...? I found one on ebay for 60 shipped...I know it's gonna be a biatch to replace, but I think I have done everything else...
