Hello guys....Just bought a 94 GT with BBK headers 2-1/2 ex. no cats. it has a BBK 70mm throttle body 373 gears and runs rough at idle. Sounds like a sweet cam but i dont think anyone has been in the motor. The car runs very strong but it seems rich at idle. I just put a 195 thermostat with a little relief hole and a Mishimoto raidiator new temp sending unit. With the a/c on it gets to the l on NORMAL. With an infra temp testor i always read 190 on the top hose and 155 or so on the bottom hose. But the intake and sending unit reads 220 degrees at this point. Whats up??? Help please Thanks Troy

I'd put a real temp gauge in the car see where it's running at. Try a 180* t-stat not sure why you put in a 195*

don't feel bad bro.. I'm running hot too with the a/c on. I've got an idea of what it is but not completely sure.. i'm thinking the belt is stretched so i'm going to go with a shorter belt and hopefully that will put more pressure on the water pump pulley to actually circulate the water. I think it's slipping on the pulley when the a/c comes on and the cooling system builds up pressure. when i figure out what exactly my problem is.. i'll let ya know

I jumped the fan motor on both speeds. The fan blows real hard but the rpm's of the fan motor seem the same. I dont know if its high or low. Also my fan comes on as soon as i start the car and stays on as long as its running. i looked at the plug/wires by the fan control module and it hasent been tampered with.

the fan should only turn on when its up to operating temperature and your driving under like 35 miles an hour or something.

also, id switch in a lower degree thermostat. 180* is in the optimal temperature range of our cars so i put a 160* thermostat with holes drilled into it and I run 180* all day during 90*-100* weather.

My car has a CXRacing radiator and 160* thermo.

I just got this car and it has a motorsport SVO intake and it was running a little hot on the factory gauge. When i went to put t-stat in there was none. I jumped the high/low speed fan and it seems to be the same speed. Also it turns on with the key on run when cold. Is the control module/fan bad??? Troy
I will install a 180 soon.

Sounds like the fan relay has been jumped somewhere, or is bad. Also, I would highly suspect that you have a clogged factory radiator. It happens when people don't change the antifreeze out regularly and hard deposits form in the radiator. You can tell by taking the radiator cap off when the car is cold, and looking down in at the cores. If they look like the bottom of a fishing boat that's been in the ocean all it's life, then that's the problem. Happens a lot on these cars.
