stock exhaust removal

so do i have to but the piping after the muffler on the stock exhaust to remove it? I would prefer to keep it in tact for when i do emissions, and incase my parents get mad i put an exhaust on it and make me take it off. (im 17 so they have control)

The only way to remove the stock catback without cuttting the tailpipes off is by removing the rear axle.
