Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and input!
I must’ve watched a thousand YouTube videos and listened to three thousand exhaust clips trying to decide. After all that…and a good hard look at my wallet …I decided to go with the Pypes Pype Bomb Cat-Back system — specifically the SFM29V with M80-style mufflers.

Really excited to hear it in person. I know it’s going to be loud and raw, which is exactly what I’m going for.

I’ll be sure to update the thread with install pics and sound clips once it’s on the car. Thanks again everyone — your advice helped make the decision way easier.

EDIT: Oh - I've ordered a cold air intake as well:)

Quick update!
The Pypes cat-back is installed, and fitment was as expected. The sound, however, was not really louder. It was maybe just 10-15% louder than the Flowmaster from American Thunder. The overall impression is good, as the drone from idle and low RPMs is gone. There’s still a good growl. :) The WOT sound is not any louder, except for the 10-15% increase.

I found a Swedish Mustang Facebook group where I managed to get a BBK 75mm throttle body, which is now installed. It runs great with no idle issues.
The CAI was installed at the same time, and the intake noise and throttle response are clearly better. The feeling when pressing the pedal is much more responsive, and it feels a little more like a "racecar" in that the car reacts more to input.

I guess I should get something like shorty headers or another mid-pipe if I want more WOT sound. However, I feel I’ve invested enough time and money to reach my goals for the sound, and maybe I just have unrealistic expectations for the 1995 Mustang. This is the setup for this summer as far as sound goes.
Thanks for all the help and input!

I think getting rid of the drone was by far the best result with changing from a Flowmaster chambered muffer system to the straight through style. I was about ready to try motorcycle silencers in the tips if it didn't help

The throttle response being more snappy is due to the 75MM throttle body. You are letting more air in with even the slightest increase in throttle. On a stock car, a larger throttle body does nothing for performance except make the car a little more sensitive to drive. If you like the sound though that is great.

Only way to make ears bleed is to ditch the cats and go off road h or x with some chambered mufflers. Headers would just be icing on the cake.

I you have a complete exhaust system, meaning pipes all the to the back and some exhaust tips, youll find no mufflers at all sounds terrific! And its probably the sound and loudness you are looking for. We call it muffler delete. A having the stock cats with a muffler delete sounds wonderful over any muffler replacement and no cats with muffler deletes full length exhaust with stock tips in my opinion sounds terrific. Check out youtube exhaust videos for the sound.
