so the first time I went out with the new setup I was pretty disappointed. Here are the mods and I will just keep posting times as I go to the track.

Aluminum block 20 over
forged rods pistons
cast crank
mildly worked pi heads
mmr 2 turbo cams
eddy vic jr intake
eddy 600 carb
tubular k member and control arms
coilovers

27 degrees of timing

I went 15.0 at 95

second time I went I changed to a little bigger holley carb. still running rich. vp110 and 38 degree of timing

went 14.8 at 97.

tranny is pretty much gone and need tires bad.

next time I go I will have long tubes and hopefully a tranny.

Wanting 13's before I hit the juice.

Oh yea and this is about 1000 feet under denver

What's with the turbo cams ? I'd hope you can blame the tranny because that's slower then my stock npi gt I went 14.7 first night out with stock gears

Rich is no good. Lean is mean.

Your MPH says you should be deep in the 14s, specially at Pueblo. What are your 60'? What does the car weigh?

You should get tires for next time too, all the power in the world is useless without good tires.

Yea I definitely need some tires and tranny.

Musturd, the motor is built for boost, just ran out of funds and enjoying it for a while. Definitely not happy with it and realize stock gt's can run close to that. I'm also almost up in the elevation of Denver with a carbed motor. Still dialing it in.

I haven't weighed the car since all the aluminum and all that was added, 60 foot was a whopping 2.3.

But I can only get better from here and will be expecting close to 13 with this motor.

My guess is about 3,000 lbs

By no means am I boasting

So Cal
Question for you guys would a larger carb help at the higher elevations than lower?? I don't know never had to race at higher elevations.
An edelbrock carb at 600cmf seems small.

Yea I think it was small, but also this is still only a 283-ish displacement motor. I am pretty new to carbs so still getting everything figured out too.

Okay, getting the car back together soon. And going to go back to the track.

Leaned out the carb a little, long tubes, good 315's out back and a tranny.

What should I run?!

I want close to 13's..
