So recently I was sitting at the airport waiting for my brother to come in when all of a sudden I smelled collant, my car does not overheat or leak anything on the floor, but when I have the heat on all my windows fog up and I smell a stong smell of collant.. I checked all the hoses for leaks and nothing.. also my collant does not get low in the system.. I am assuming its a bad heater core :crybaby2: but not positive yet.. any one have suggestions on anything else it could be that I should look into???

As far as a headgasket I thought the car would over heat which it doesn't so that's y I wasn't looking into it being a headgasket just yet

bad heater core! the strong coolant smell means it is starting to leak into the car... you should fix that a.s.a.p before you have a major coolant leak inside your car! or bypass it until you can replace it.

check both firewall connections for any leak. i blew my one heater hose and replaced it with one that day but smaller OD doesnt keep it as tight as it should. it leaks a very small amount but every time i turn the heat on it smells like coolant for a few seconds before it goes away.
if it stays that way then you have a cracked heater core.
good luck
