Sudden brake and powersteering loss.

I have found that between design changes they some times will have new stock on the "behind" year or old stock on the "new" year depending on build date.

So it was the tensioner? It's weird to me because one of the whole points of a hydroboost is that the accumulator inside can provide at least a couple hard stops worth of boost even if it looses all incoming pressure.

That's what I was thinking! I checked the vin because I thought I was going crazy. I'm guessing it was a late year model that got the updated front configuration? the mysteries of life

I think the belt cracked from age and weather (I still have no hood smh) and snapped. I stopped once before I tried to brake again, probably used the last of the pressure on that. I got the belt tensioner kit and just replaced everything. It's funny because my steering and brakes are now slightly more sensitive than before, the belt was probably pretty shit before I bought the car and just finally gave out. Maybe placebo. Who knows.
