Basically I have 4.10's and Im getting a blower... a Vortech to be exact.... So am I gonna be screwed? I hear that I can run 4.10's with the blower but it MAY be a little much... What have you say to this?

Every driver is different and what works for one may be complete ass to another. What tires, boost level, etc are you running?

Most people really like the upgrade of gears, but I really liked the stock gear. After launching it, I could stay wide open in first and chirp second. Driving a car with 4.30's certainly was quicker, but basically boiled first with very similar mods and barked second hard and just made it generally less fun for me.

If you are running slicks, I don't see it as being a problem at all.

CanaryGT, are you stick or auto?

I have a 5-spd with 3.73's and I'm almost thinking I should have gone with 3.55's (but I didn't think I would go F/I at the time).

With a good set of rubber under you, you'll be alright... O0

4.10's here and over 500 rwhp. I do have drag radials and they are 28" tall but with the gear its not that bad. Of coarse I do still have traction problems in 1st and 2nd gear. We have mostly 1/8th mile tracks around here so the 4.10's won't be an issue but I don't think there is anyway that I could run a 1/4 mile track because with my power, I should be close to 123-124 mph at the traps and with 4.10's there is no way I could do that without shifting to 5th gear.

This is true with 3.73 Im at the top of 4th at 122.1mph. I think I need 3.55's

i'd say it is too tall of a gear since the 5.0 has alot of low end grunt compared to the 4.6 DOHC were most people run 4.10s with a blower like i am going to.. :dancing6:

Interesting is a good word to explain it. Its really not the bad, but I will not be able to run in the 1/4 mile without a gear swap. I don't mind that though since we don't have any 1/4 mile tracks close to me. It is definately fun to drive. I could imagine it on true street tires though.

350 rwhp is barely breaking a sweat with the blower you're getting.

Depends on the boost you see, your existing mods, and the tune. I think a gain of 150 rwhp over what you have now is a good conservative estimate; however, I am typically not the type to speculate. Dyno numbers don't really mean much to me. What does matter to me is whether the car is fun to drive, and makes lots of torque - both of which will be good descriptors for your car after the blower.

I think 500rwhp or rwtorque (dynojet) is the most power you will want with a 3.73 gear and a 5speed, I'm at the max on my combo, any more power would be 3.55 time, or a six speed. I've ran 121mph in the quarter banging the limiter at 6grand in 4th. It all depends on how hard you want to hook, also. You'll torch your stock tranny and axles if you hook hard in first with 3.73's, eventually.
