thinking of getting a centrifugal for the 5.0 question is what brand i have known a few mod guys with prochargers that were amazing but i dunno if maybe theres a better way for us 5.0 guys. also with a low boost stock bottom end what can i expect at the wheels with and without H/C/I? also what does the install entail? will i just buy a complete procharger kit or even with a charger kit will i be piecing other stuff together? If I do go this route i will be doing the install myself so i just want to get a better grasp on whats what. thanks guys.

Vortechs are great. you could expect 320hp 370 tq with 8-10 pounds. Make sure you check the description and be sure the kit includes fuel management, unless you have FM already or wanna buy somewhere else.

I had my 95 GT supercharged with stock heads/cam and a cobra intake. Exhaust and a tune and it put down 338 and 340ish TQ. It was a Paxton Novi 2000 pushing about 8-10 PSI

Its fine as long as you have the proper size injectors and a good tune. Dont run an FMU just put bigger injectors in. I had #30 injectors with the mods I listed before and it still ran lean up top and it was nothing special for a set up. Went to #42's and removed the FMU and it was all good

how reliable is a 8 psi on a stock bottom end?

psi doesn't mean anything. my stock shortblock took 14-16 psi for almost 100,000 miles and was still reliable. power and rpm are what you should be worried about

Its all in your tune. I ran around for a little while with out a tune, however i boosted twice in probably the 1.5 years that i supercharged my car without a tune. I finally broke down and got a Moates chip and WOW. Talk about night and day. Voretch is probably gonna be your best bet, they are in abundance online used, its a weekend job, nothing difficult, if you get an Strim kit you will need to tap your oil pan for the oil drain line. Oh and anyone who says they are selling a %100 complete kit and its used, you WILL be making a trip to superchargersonline.com no one ever sells them %100 complete.

I kinda don't want to deal with tapping the oil. That's why I'm thinking if going procharger. It's a nice setup.

prochargers are known for seal and bearing failures. both vortech and paxton have self contained units so you don't need to tap the pan if you are that worried about it.

He is right no kit is 100% complete! Regardless you might have all the components you won't have a lot of the hardware or tubing. As for the oil line I know you have to tap into pan to drain and another to feed into it if I'm not mistaken.

The vortech V-3 s-trim is self contained, no oil lines, no tapping
