I hear their are kits that will allow you to make the PI intakes work on the 4.6 SOHC motors, My mechanic i had it to swore that i had the wrong intake and said their is no way that the PI intake would work on my car, He said the port heads were much bigger and didn't line up and said it could and would not work, Where can i get a kit to make the PI intake work...Links appreciated i am working on it but at the moment not very mechanically educated.....

your mech is a dumb a** first off you can do this yourself very easy to do just take pictures along the way and if you get lost putting it back together refer to the pics. here the link thats in the stickies http://sn95forums.com/index.php/topic,11825.0.html if you dont find it helpful enough google pi swap on to npi motor and you will come up with 100 differnt how-tos for the swap. you also need to make sure you have all the other things to do the swap like the coolant tube that runs unter the intake, water pump nipple, alt bracket. if you still are uneasy with the swap livernios motorsports make the kit with adapter plates http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product.phtml?p=457 but it is pricey, easy to do the rtv method just dont rush putting fluid back into it of it will leak! hope this help you out.

I went the RTV route...car runs fine and no leaks. I bought the necessary parts for the swap from a guy on ebay and got the intake manfold from americanmuscle.com

I picked up 30rwhp/18tq with the livernois PI intake swap
Was that boosted or n/a?

i think that was boosted. with the PI intake and bolt ons with the vortech he made like 314rwhp on 8psi (i only know this because i just watched his dyno video on streetfire this morning) that was before PI cams....

Ebay was selling complete pi swap kits for a while on there, that came with everything. but its easy to piece the kit together if you wish..

your mechanic is trash

and ive done 3 swaps. 1 with plates and 2 with rtv including my car. so that route you go is on you in comparability

and its the first anti bottleneck npi mod so enjoy power after 4000

I've got like 8 cars running around with a PI intake, no plates and a little RTV. Some have been done for 5 years, and haven't leaked yet. So I say screw buying plates you don't need, slap your mechanic, and go do it yourself in a couple hours.

That's not sarcasm, it's 100% true. The PI intake drastically improves performance over 4000rpms.

I've done the swap 2 times. Used RTV and never had problems...

the whole swap can be done in a couple of hours if you've done it before... Don't pay a mechanic, just do it yourself... It will feel really satisfying once you're done with it :)
