Pretty much.

The work it'll take to put a v8 in the v6 will nearly double or triple the cost it would be to just buy a v8 and is not even remotely worth it to most.

that's not true at all. (If the OP is just talking about swapping power plants) I've helped do a couple of them. If you have a pre mod motor car then you'll need a new Kmember. Other than that, Turn off the pats (so you don't have to get new lock/keys), use the entire engine and wiring harness w/ ECU. If you're using a 96-98 Cobra T-45 then you'll need to move back the trans cross brace to fit. If you use the GT T45 then it's all the same.

The conversion can be done for less than 3k.

Yes... but it's not just the motor and transmission... you will have to also condsider the rear axle of the car. I was going to do the 4.6 DOHC swap into a v6, but I stopped after I realized the time that must be considered.

It would be much easier to just swap a 4.6 DOHC into a 4.6 SOHC gt mustang, or at least this is the conclusion I came up with. Alas you can do this swap, and it is very very possible. It just takes time, money, and patience.

yeah the conclusion i had come to was i would need the engine, radiator, water pump and little accesories like that as well as a new t56 trans or something of the such. new clutch, rear end including the brakes, brake master, front cobra brakes, cobra shocks with h&r spring, ecu for engine, cobra wiring harness, cobra speedo. a daunting task i know. any other suggestions. (keep in mind i have the rest of the interior, body, and suspension squared away i just need to make sure i'm not forgetting anything on the list for the engine swap) thanks guys!
