i have a full stock 95 mustang putting in a 95 SVO intake on later this week (cobra intake) , i do plan on some AFR 165 heads on it later and maybe a mild came (but not any time soon ) , my question is what is a good Maf , and TB to put on it , i plan on putting a new CAI in it at the same time im thinking JLT Performance Cold Air Intake ( http://www.americanmuscle.com/jlt-9495-50l-cai.html is the link) unless you guys also know of a better one , for the MAF and TB im looking for like what size on each as well as who may make a more effeciant one , as well as should i do a MAF for a diff size injector ? Let me know guys thanks for all the help in advance and sorry for the noob questions. (i know gear will be my best bang for my buck but i alrdy have 3.73 gears but am waiting to put them in).

Personally I would stay with the OEM TB and MAF. There is no reason to change them now. When/if you change the heads and cam you might want to make changes at that time as well as going to 24 lb injectors. Again I would wait.

I'll disagree. He'll benefit from a 70mm TB to go with his SVO/Cobra intake which has a 70mm inlet. The stock TB is 60mm. Any of the aftermarket 70mm TB's will do. When and if you do goto larger injectors, match them up with a larger MAF at that time. For now, keep the stock MAF with stock injectors. The JLT CAI is a good piece as well; it'll relocate your MAF to the fenderwell for a cooler and more accurate reading. Clean your stock MAF with some CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner from your local parts store. Good luck bro!

what size is the stock MAF housing? if you go 70mm tb and the stock MAF is smaller than that then you're really going to slow down ur intake charge.

so if i were to swap for a 70mm TB since the intake is 70mm , and the stock MAF is 70mm would it not be better to do the MAF to an 80mm with a stock tune ? or would it be more practical to do fuel injectors now , even though im waiting a bit to do heads and a cam later?

as long as your maf isnt smaller than ur tb you're ok. u want ur smallest part of ur intake to be ur tb, that helps to keep velocity up.

While I agree that a 70mm TB won't hurt I don't believe the stock TB will be a limiting factor when it comes to air flow with the Cobra intake and stock heads. After he changes the heads it's a different ball game.

The stock TB is 60mm. With a 70mm opening on the GT40 intake, it's a no brainer running the stock 60mm TB will be somewhat of a restriction. Not talking gobs of HP here, but I truly believe there are some gains to be had including crisper throttle response by simply upgrading to a matched 70mm TB on the SVO intake. Yes, the stock TB will be get the job done, but some of us strive to get the job done RIGHT.

i will have to agree with this. after my cobra swap and 70mm pro prod tb my throttle response is way faster then it was stock.
