So when I got my CD player installed the guy told me one of the connectors had been cut. Well only thing that worked was the front and rear tweets...Sounds ok but I want my bump back...

While Detailing the car I pull the carpet out of the trunk and water was all over my stock amps so I'm sure they a bust now...

question...How do I bypass the amps ??? I plan on removing them. (For weight reduction/jk)

Would I just wire all of the speakers directly to the cd player and WA LA MY BASS IS BACK....What about the power wire for the CD player? does that wire run to the amps and then to a 12v power scource or Do the amps have a separate Power source? (also I could care less about the memory wire)

Also after doing this I'll get the amps tested along with documentation that they work and sell them...If anyones interested help me out and they can be yours faster lol

I just ripped the 460 out. I put in an aftermarket CD player, rewired everything and boom done. All you need from the factory harness is constant power, ignition and ground. Hell even the ground you can do yourself.

If you wanted to use the factory head unit you just need to figure out which color wire combo goes where. I am sure the harness goes from the head unit to the rear amps as speaker level inputs and then back out to the speakers. If you can figure out the color combo's of each speaker you may be able to just cut out the middle man.

Thanks, I'll get to snatching out those amps and re-wiring stuff as soon as I get a free day.

Yup. Dont bother Keeping them. I mean, maybe scott will tell you different, but I suggest rewire... But remember, a round speaker always sounds better than an oval... ( <-- See What I did there Scott? Lol)

the dreaded 460 is nothing to be afraid of... Rewiring could not be any easier hopefully the people doing the install used the correct hrns.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2395420/1994-ford-mustang-gt-coupe-2d/page-2

I point to the hrns you are wanting to find, it is normally clipped to the side of the dash directly next to the radio but if yours was cut there is no telling where it is. It is easy to identify as it looks alot like the same hrns that is used to supply power although it is black and will have 8 wires going to it. Disconnect it and a standard ford fdo2b or 70-1770 hrns will plug in. Those wires go directly to the tweeters. Now replace the 5 x 7s and all you need to do is take the signal wire from the tweeter(right next to the woofer) and use that to power the new speaker.
