Ok so lately the car been making a grinding/metallic noise around certain rpms. Ive had the top end apart in te last week sk I'm fairly certain it's not the motor. Well today on the interstate it decided to go. Loud noises. The funny thing is that all gears engage smooth and everything but it has a super loud grinding clinking noise. You car hear what sounds like material bouncing around inside. Even in neutral and with the clutch engaged. Anybody have a clue what could be the issue? It's drivable but sounds terrible.

Should have bought by Longtubes then it wouldn't have blown up :)

It's not going to be driveable much longer i imagine. Have you noticed the TO bearing squeeling any or hard to get into gear before you heard this noise?

Another fellow member here had the same problem i had recently. It Could very well be the same thing that happened.

The Pilot bearing is so far gone that it has caused the TO bearing to ride irregular and cause irregular wear on your input shaft which therefore has just been tearing away at your Input Gear.

Mine did it from 5th to 4th and just easing into the throttle. Here is a picture for you.

It had been squealing. But I would describe the noise as a harmonic vibration. Then it felt funny then just loud and sounded like gravel in a can. Sorry bout the longtubes. Had to drop some cash for tires as well.

It could very well be the Pilot bearing causing that vib and wearing the input shaft odd where the TO bearing rides along it. Gravel in a can kinda sounds like you may have dropped maybe some gear selectors or something in the tranny.

I'm gonna have it towed in the am. Get it on a lift and start pullin it apart. Maybe I can track down a junk yard tranny to get me by til I fix whatever is up with this one.

Unsure actually cause the Input shaft might not be the right length. The Bell housing's were different i think that's why.

Ahh ok. My best bet may be to track down a completely fox setup if I can't find the right tranny

Well win it seems your correct. I wouldn't have had the issue if I bought your headers. Ha. The loud noise I was hearing was an exhaust leak from my o2 sensor coming out of my h pipe. Fella who had the car before me crossthreaded it beyond belief so they don't hold well.
