long title haha

but ya, this car doesn't really want me to sell her after the clutch issue when i started her to take her for the trade. Looks like i'll just keep her on craigslist for the mean time. BUT i'll have to get a new daily this summer or if I sell the car, i'll get a classic. Anyone have any good ideas for a daily with good gas mileage that looks good? Would want to spend 5-8k for a daily.

On the other hand, I can sell my car for cheaper and just go with the route I want, which would be to buy a 65 comet convertible or a 67 mustang. I'd have to pour some money into that to get a/c and some good brakes though. Or anyone have any ideas besides the comet and mustang that would look sick and be good enough for a daily driver. I would want to spend 9-12k for a classic after selling my car.

I'm just stuck with making up my mind. I'm sorry guys, but i'd def sell out my mustang for the right price right now...and I'd miss it a lot, its been my baby and I'll be sad to see her go, but I'm just wanting something different.

csvt!

but in all seriousness, there are a ton of fun cars that get decent/great mileage in your price range. I like small cars myself, so that makes it easier for me. but in my mind a manual tranny can make pretty much any econobox a decently enjoyable car, all the while improving your mileage.

ya, I'm thinking more and more of keeping the stang and finally painting it/making it like 98v6er's with the black accents. I just feel like if I keep the car, i'll dump more and more into this car and when i finally sell it have 3x the amount its worth into it. ugh, decisions decisions...

through out some ideas of cars too! I have another 1.5 years of school and after school I'll have lots of new bills to pay so I'm wanting to try to keep within those limits set with a loan/how much i make this summer and the stocks i have will back up my loan if i need to.

i've actually never driven one of them lol. really actually torquey? I've looked at the vw's a bit, more into the gti's...but diesel would be so good of mpg!

torquey for a 4 cyl, I think with a good exhaust and good intake people are seeing close to 300ft-lbs of torque, which would be fun lol

A Focus or even a Pontiac Vibe/ Toyota Matrix are decent looking cars. and get into the 30 MPG's. Or maybe something a little bit bigger like a Grand Prix GTP/ Monte Carlo SS. get in the upper 20's. All of the GTP's and only some of the SS's are superchaged.Or even a Honda VTEC. If you can find one some kid hasn't destroyed. If you do get something FWD, just make sure the timing belt has ben replaced recently.Almost all of the heads are interferance and if the belt breaks then carnage will result.

because if I'm going to buy a turd that only gets average mileage, it sure as hell better have a use-able back seat. with some cargo capacity too.

but this thread isn't about me...

I'm a skeptic about gas mileage, always have been.. and I'd have to see consistent 30mpg to believe it. My bud's got a 4cyl fox that doesn't even get 30 in mixed driving.

To the OP, i'd go classic. There's just something fun about cruising around in an old car, with no care in the world about the performance etc. Plus, they're easy to work on and get looks. If I had the choice i'd get a 66-67 Fairlane with bigger tires/wheels and swap an EFI 302 in it and just use it as a daily.

Old school for the win. If I could sell my SRT, I'd love to get my 67 up and going as a daily.

surprised a few have gone with the classic! thats what i'm thinking too, just cruise around in it and not worry about performance like I did with this car, so it'd be cheap to just maintain...
