throttle body and plenum

Not really. Don't do a plenum and TB unless you get a PI intake. I know that its an easy sorta cheap upgrade but you would be happier if you spent the money on something else. What does your car have done to it? What are your plans if any for your car?

well its a 96 gt with a cold air and its dumped...and im a junior in high school and im getting an 03/04 cobra for college so i dont wanna spend a lot of money on it..but i defenetly wanna add some power tho..without having to do the whole pi swap..cause i could save the money for the cobra..so would the pi intake itself do something?

ya the pi intake itself will add 10-15 hp w/ a tune, but if your doing the intake you mine as well do the cams at the same time

wow a 03/04 cobra for a 18 year old college student huh. LoL if you were like me then thats like handing a .44 mag with 5 out of 6 chambers with a bullet and saying play russian rulet with yourself lol.

Anyway, save your money. Don't do anything to the car if you haven't yet. Unless your doing the pi H/C/I swap or a supercharger or N02 then don't waist money. your just going to be spinning your tires with the npi stuff. Like i said save the money for the cobra. Shoot, exaust, cai, pulley, and tune and your over 500 hp.

lol i want to do the pi stuff but not the heads cause those are the most expensive so ill probably just do the intake and cam wat do yall think?

see thats where companies get you nowdays. lol. they know the plenum and TB
wont add much HP, but the tell u it will. the plenum/throttle body combo
doesnt do much for a stock motor, however it will increase throttle responce
a great deal from what ive heard. but its not really gonna gain u anything
untill u have some type of forced induction, even then to see the potential gains
u need to be able to get all that air out, this is where the headers and exhaust
come into play. it all works together because the easier the engine breathes, the
better HP its going to make. think of engines as an air pump, the more efficient u
make the motor at breathing in and out, the more it will reward u with HP gains.

the whole reason our 4.6's love forced induction is because we dont have the
neccecary cubic inches to draw in the air by engine alone. our combustion chambers
are limited and after so many mods, wont bring in any more air. unlike a big block
which can breathe in much more air because of its diplacement. alot of people dont
know that the engine draws air in by the piston going down before the compression
stroke. forced induction just helps that process out by shoving air in, letting the engine
work easier since it doesnt have to do all the work.

see, our t/b's and plenums arent that bad. u can make big power from it. the only real
gain u will see is the throttle response. from what ive heard.

our tb and plenum arent bad...but with a supercharger, a 75mm throttle body and better flowing plenum will add like 20+ rwhp supposedly.

Theyre good but do gears/ pi intake,cams,tune before.

throttle responce is the ability of the engine to rev freely(sp?). also throttle responce is the engine reacting
to the amount of throttle ure telling it to open. basically makes it easier for RPMs to increase or decrease

So in other words... not as much hp gains as track time gains?

eh..its more of the feel..doesnt really mean its faster..just will rev easier ..will rev higher with less gas I guess you could say.

Us mustang owners need to stop doing stupid bolt ons. Just get gears and a power adder and call it a day. I hate knowing that I could of saved up all my money I spend on bolt ons and just bought a vortech or hell, atleast a full pi swap.
