A couple of things to ponder. First confirm there are no vacuum or exhaust leaks. Second, has an aftermarket chip been installed. You will have to inspect the ECU to see if a previous owner has done something there. Third, what mods are on the car that you know of. Fourth, 14* may just be too much. Try 12 and see if anything improves after you have checked the first 2 items. And last, the IAC control valve may just through age is no longer responding to the signal from the ECU as it should.

There's not much you can clean on the IAC. The chamber and the protective bellows and that's it. Clean it if you will but if the problem is a worn shaft or a lazy solenoid the IAC will need to be replaced. From your description I don't see the IAC as being a prime candidate as the source of the problem.

This problem just started after you installed the BBK CAI and set the timing to 14*, is that correct? Did you adjust the throttle set screw? Did you adjust the air bleed screw to the IAC? If these have been altered you should do a idle reset. That's described on the site about cleaning the IAC. Have you rechecked the MAF sensor connection and confirmed that it's connected properly? If everything looks good do a wiggle test (wiggle the wires at the connection) to see if that changes the idle. It's a test for a loose or broken wire.
