That’s going to depend on what cams you have, and if your chain guides bolt to the block or over the oil pump. I’d personally try to find the steel backed guides instead of the plastic ones.

All of the components in the kit will work together. The picture looks like the chain tentioner guides are aluminum, but not stated and could be plastic when received.

In my opinion, just order new chain tentioner guides and save yourself a pile of money. The guides are the only component that wears out to damaged. None of the other listed components wear out. Also Id prefer to run a worn timing chain over a new chain. The worn chain has stretched its stretch from wear and really wont strech much more. All the new chain will do is stretch

i have not seen a kit that did not have the Polly or plastic guides
every kit i have seen has some sort of plastic guide

i would think its better than metal to metal

I was talking about the stationary side, not the tension arm. There are stationary guides that have a steel frame and the plastic clips on to it. The link above had the stationary guides that are completely plastic.

Ford Aluminum kits are good
Quality is pretty good
I'll end up getting a set for the 05 gt
And cam sencors
