Getting ready to start new set up, and have some questions about where to set timing? Where should base timing & total timing be set at. Do i want 16 degrees base with a total of 54 degrees, or set it at 10 degrees with 42 total? Thanks

You probably already know this, but you have to pull the spout connector first or you can't time the engine. It was a new one on me so I thought I'd say.

computer will adjust timing you can only change base timing. unless you are changing the timing tables with a tune . if you are then 10*

Jerry from Super Chips tuned the car a couple of years ago. He said he would set the timing from inside the vehicle. I will set at 10 deg. and adjust from there.

if you have a tune done then I would keep it at 10. I think if your tuner could have wiggled a few more hp outta it he would have already.

Like he said. If you are technically inclined, google "flame kernel formation".

ill look into it. are you saying too that advancing timing increases spark

No. Just when it fires. The spark intensity is fixed unless you are adding a spark enhancer such as a MSD6AL. However timing will affect combustion efficiencies.
