tinted windshields

Cops around here are pretty forgiving. I dont drive my car like an idiot. I've had illegal tint on all of my cars that I've ever had and have never gotten pulled over for it. Hell, I've got illigal tint on my windows right now, for the past almost 3 years, and tinted tails, and tinted headlights. As long as you're not acting up they leave you alone. They've got better things to do with their time. Hell I've even gone by state troopers on the side of the road with red streetglow (my old focus) and they dont even give me a second thought.

And btw, if you're out running me they'll rather go after you, as a speeding ticket is more than a improper equipment ticket.

i personally wouldnt tint the whole windshield lower than about 50 if ur wanting to avoid fines from cops. 35 POSSIBLY. DEF no darker. if ur wanting darker just get the strip across the top of the windshiled and drop it pretty low to where u want it and do it as dark as u want

I dont like the strip, if there was a way to fade it like the factory does it'd be ok, but that line is too harsh for me. yea def no darker than 35. Just another idea I'm tossing around.

Bump that. I hate tint in general. I can't see SHIT out of my windows in the SRT4 at night and I don't think its that dark, 15% maybe. Annoying as hell.

hmm, my 20% isnt all that bad to me. Maybe I feel that way because I'm not really looking out of them all the time like I would a windshield.

Buddy of mine has his windshield tinted 50% on his accord. It looks good and it's not to dark at all, it's just enough to kill glare. I personally wouldn't do it, I would just do the strip instead.

I no longer have tint on my vic but it was 11% on the sides. Maximum in GA is 32% but when I bought the car it had the 11% on it, damn cops here pulled me and wrote me a $125 ticket anyways. I was pissed, also have any of yall ever thought about just doing a stripe across the top of the windshield? Thats what I was thinking about doing when I get mine retinted.

Thats the only thing the cops care about in my province, Window tint on windows infront of driver (drivers/passengers door etc). We can go as dark as we want on the back 3, but if they see ANY tint on the front windows, your just asking for trouble. AS for the stripe, I drove Tiburon for work with a 20% stripe that came 1/3 down, looked ugly and limited vision through windshield.

if the sun is in your eyes, only tint the first like 4" or so. problem solved works great for me

I've thought about doing mine. Never even thought to ask if it was ever done! Plus with mine, I never hardly drive @ night. I did it just when I had my new HID's hooked up. I don't know if it's because I never see headlights, or just my cause of my brain injury. When ever I see someone, it's like they have on their brights! My eyes are way light sensitive now! I thought of getting it done for that reason, really. May seriously think about it now! Thanks!!

^ wear sunglasses. difference being you can take the sunglasses off in 1/12 of a second when it gets dark

Its gonna be a while before i get it done,i rode i na few cars with 50% and it looks pretty decent
and not too dark to get the cops attention.

if you want something to kill glare, and to reduce inside temps, buy Llumar's ATR30 or AIR80. It has a lite bluish tint like newer mercedes and such.

When you have the whole front windshield tinted it will make all the tint look like it is much darker. And attract unwanted attention. Just go with the glare strip.

i dont like the way the strip looks, for whatever reason my eyes are always drawn to the line where the tint stops, it annoys me.

I never thought tinting the windshield to be a good idea, I can't see it being very practical in NY either considering inspection and registration stickers go there and it seems like it would ruin the tint went it came time to change them.

I never knew people did this untill today. I will stick with glare strip since cops around here are major PITA about tint.
