New to Mustangs and looking for tires and wheels for a 1995 GT convertible. Car is stock suspension and currently has stock tires and wheels. Found a set of 18x9.5 (285/40R18) and 17x8 (235/45R17) wheels with 5.25" backspace on the rears and 4.5" backspace on the fronts. Tire widths are 11.22" rear and 9.25" front. Rears are 26.98" tall and fronts are 25.33" tall. Tires and wheels are brand new but being sold by private seller for $1400. Wheels are US Mag. Tires are Michelin pilot sport as3. Seller says he paid $2350 when he bought them.
Will these fit? bolt pattern is good as it's 5 x 114.3.
Looks like these. Summit has 15x7's for $191 each.

Watch out for them rear fenders and wide wheels. The fender lips will eat the tires. A good fender roller along with elbow grease will take care of the problem.

I have 345 wide tires on mine and have no problems with rubbing the fenders. Fenders rolled of course.

I cant recall my wheels offsets but my rears are 18x10.5. I had to remove the quad shocks and heavy hammer dent in some areas of the inner wheel well to clear my wide tires. Someone here will chime in on wheel knowledge. We got some great knowledgeable people here thatll lead you in the right direction.

By the way, those wheels would look fire!!

Thanks. Car is Laser red with tan top and tan Mustang stickers along the doors so don't think black wheels would look right? A chrome wheel with gold inset would look good but I'm looking for used since I'm trying to stay under $1000-1200 for tires and wheels so hard to find those.
Anyone have a laser red with tan top and black wheels that can share pics? Curious how it would look

Just got back with the car. Drove it 50 miles home.
First question...how big id the fuel tank? It was on 1/4 tank and only took 8 gallons to fill it so seems off

Looks pretty clean, was it a private sale? Either of those good/bronze LMR wheels would look great.
Fuel tank is a little over 15 gallons, but I swear I've put 16 gallons in mine before.

+1 here! Looks clean; super low miles. Not sure what to tell you about the gas gauge. Maybe just keep an eye how it functions before you start dropping the tank to check/replace the float, or weed through the gauge pod and wiring!

Car looks great! My only suggestion to improve its oks exponentially would be a Steelers sticker and/or license plate frame. Go Steelers!!!

Stopped last night on the way home at a local drive in restaurant and the cup holder situation sucked so came home and ordered cupholders out of a '98+ so will do that mod when it comes in and also ordered a hood strut kit to eliminate the prop rod
