i used Toyo Proxes T1-S (T1-R is their replacement)

275/35 front and 295/35 rear on 18x9/10 wheels
I liked these tires alot and they were also very good in the wet
and they're decently affordable

if you wanna spend a little more money go with GoodYear D3's... i've had two sets of them on my ex's Camaro SS and they were unbelievable

you could even consider BFG KDW2's for average pricing in thsoe sizes

even more money buy the tires i just bought
275/35 front 315/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

one more thing... if im not mistaken TireRack.com has the Pirelli P-Zero's on closeout right now...
the 315/30 was only like 229 last time i checked a few days ago, i would jump on those for that price

I don't have much experience track wise with my BFG T/A drag radials but the tread life absolutely sucks so keep that in mind when you spend $300 on a single back tire.

thats because they are drag radials... the only DR that lasts 10k is a Nitto

i dont see any reason for driving drag radial every day, a high end Michelin will give you more confidence on the street

i would say BFG KDW 2's, firestone firehawk wideovals, or michelines.. never had any of these tires but i have heard awesome things about them.

ive done lots of research too.... also, i have had like 4 sets of pirellis.. all crap.

there are only 2 tire companies i go with for performance.....Nitto and Michelin

Michelin are by far the best you can get....PS2 will blow your mind...but Pilot Cups will destroy anything...its pretty much a track tire with a little tint tread.

....i am a huge Nitto fan, i have had 3 sets all of which satisfied me

I saw those Pirellis on Tirerack for sale, seemed like a really good deal. Also I find no problem with BFGoodrich tires in terms of performance, their drag radial is awesome and the KDW2 is supposed to ride and handle like a dream.

i've got 315/30/18 bfg drags on my car, and i love them as far as dry traction, the only time i have trouble as far as
road manners wise (other than snow, to which i have a beater) is heavy rain. It is all about sacrifice. if you do not
have another car, and you need a tire for everything (dry, wet, even a little snow) then the drag radial is not for you.
i would buy some sumitumos, which are rather cheap, or step up in tires as your wallet allows. :santa_afro:

After seeing that Discount Tire vs. High Performance tire on "Fifth Gear" made me change my mind about every buying discount tires such a Sumitomo on a performance car

Fifth Gear did a comparison test with Stock Tires, Cheap Discount Tires (Sumitomo Style) and a High performance Summer tire.

They did laps with each tire set up and you can really see the way the car drives with Discount tires vs. Stock. The hi-Po summer tire was really nice
