To Port new Heads

Gentlemen, my 2002 GT needs a new engine and I'm going to have one installed here in Houston. They can port the intake and claim it will add about 40 to 50 HP. Cost is an additional $645. Couple of questions: 1. is this worth the money and can I really get that much additional HP from the engine. 2. Would I have to increase the throttle body and plenum size for more air flow.

I cant see a 40hp gain by "just" porting a plastic intake or did you mean intake ports? But porting either one is not going to gain 40hp alone. Gonna have to get crafty'r than that.
