i tried searching all over the place to find an answer for this.

i have a pretty stock 96 cobra. coilovers on all four corners, jlt intake, UDPs, imrc deletes, o/r H, soon to have longtubes, weight reduction, and planning on 430 gear install soon.

someone is selling a set of weld prostars, which have a 325/50/15s out back.

i know this would look bad ass, but i also want the tire to be functional. im not talking about fitment issues, just performance wise.

is this WAY to big of a tire for a stockish 96 cobra? would i just bog down when i launch? i dont go to the track, considering there are none on long island. just street fun once in a while.

that's pretty tall.... I'm not an expert in this area, but from my (minor) experience I would say yes, those are too tall.

On the street you probably wont "bog" down because you wont get enough traction to properly use that tire anyways, so I'd say buy them... if nothing else it'll be an intimidating factor for your competition ;) lol.

yeah that's a pretty beefy tire, i don't think it'll really bog with a 4.30 gear but the 325 width may give you a little trouble. 28" tires pretty much fill up the wheel well.

I'd stick with a 26" if you are looking for performance. The extra 2" dose make a difference. I ran 28" for awhile on a drag oriented fox back in the day, and scooted down the track quicker on a 26".

28's are fine on cars with enough gear and power on the bottle this year i may run out of gear at the top end so I might go 28 or 27" tall tire .

I am assuming the tires are DR's? If so 28" tires fit fine, here's my car when I had them on

Just remember that you will likely see an ABS light everytime you drive since your front and rear tire diameters are so much different
