I apologize if the answer is here on the forums but I wasn't able to find it. To remind, I have a 2001 GT which it should equip the T-45. I have some issues with it but seem to be known. I still have some questions about it. First, let me list the issues

1- if slow during 1st and second...it sounds like it's grinding or something. Apparently it is not an real issue
2- 4th sometimes grinds. I thought it was me but then find out it is a common issue
3- reverse sometimes can be the biggest pain in my asshole when I need to go, especially when I have someone in the car with me.
4- it just seems to be a pain to shift

I was wondering, what are the fixes for this if I don't go on the T56 termi route. I eventually plan to hit the 600whp goal but not for the strip. solely for the street and twisties and the shifting needs to be smooth. Will the short throw shifter help? What if I rebuild tranny, can it handle the 600whp? possibly 800whp? I know I can convert to hydraulic instead of cable so that is not an issue.

finally, I apologize for grammar...am drunk.

and now that I type this up...I can't move shifter easily. I don't think I can drive to work now. Putting it on reverse is now using both hands...wtf!

Talked to a friend of mine, he told me the quadrant may be worn out. He then told me to pull up on the clutch and voila! it shifts nice. He said that is a temporary fix.

yea, its a temp fix though. Apparently I need new an Alum quadrant, firewall adjuster and new cable. My friend told me that ford makes them but there are aftermarket ones out there that are better. I don't even know where to look or know what is better. I don't know shit about this.
