tranny leak help needed!

I started my full pi swap 5 weeks, ago. after 3.5 weeks of working on the car, everything was fine.

one day i get home from school and get to work, crawl under the car, and there is a massive puddle (5x5 puddle) of tranny fluid. (cherry red BTW) i'm confused and just wipe it up, the next day, same thing..im catching on, i wipe it up, and leave a catch can under it that night, then drove to florida with my mom, and i get back a couple days later, and its overflown the catch can (it was little) and flodded my garage floor.

if i havent started or messed with my tranmission, WHY THE FUCK is it leaking massive amount of fluid? I dont think any of my main seals are bad because the car hasnt been moved, or started..I suspect the dipstick, but i'm confused as to why it took 3.5 weeks on stands before it all of a sudden poured out. any help would be awesome.

So your car is sitting on a level surface in the garage and trans fluid is just pouring out of it for no reason? lol

Is your dipstick out of the trans?

Is the drive shaft off the trans?

Kinda confused at whats going on here but basically your saying the car has been sitting in one spot and randomly started leaking trans fluid without you changing anything else????

Im just confused because what he is saying makes no sense at all....

the trans isnt going to start pouring fluid out for no reason with the car on level ground and the motor bolted up etc, obviously something changed in there...need more details

Yea, need more info. If I notice a leak....the car gets put on jack stands and i'm under it with a light searching until I see where it's coming from...

lol yea, im not really sure what this dudes doing, theres only a few spots fluid can come out of the trans and its pretty obvious where its coming from.

like i already stated, it coming from the dipstick area. it doesnt drip fast enough for me to sit there and watch. but overnight a puddle will form, I have no clue whats going on, it just all of a sudden happened one day.


dipstick is in place (was never touched)

drive shaft is in place (wasnt touched)


all i did was a pi swap/ X pipe.


I have tried to sit there with a flashlight but it doesnt drip that fast. i have sat there for a good 20 minutes and nthing happened, but overnight a puddle will form.

Not really sure what to tell you...try cleaning the trans off and figuring out where its actually leaking from.

It could definately be coming from the dipstick though.

after cleaning up the spill, i lifted the back up so now its sitting level. I just took a trip to the app mountains to see my gf's sister graduate with her masters, I havent gotten under there in looked, but i'll look tomorrow morning.


i know for a fact its coming from the upper part of the passanger side. thats what leads me to think dipstick.

If it wasnt level for a long period of time I can definitely see fluid coming out of the dipstick tube.
