I have a 95 mustang gt auto with an AODE in it that came with the car. I need to replace my stock torque convertor it shudders really bad at like 25-40 mph. I was looking at two options first was to get a rebuilt torque convertor put in and a rebuild kit from tci with a shift kit included, because for a shift kit its like 200 dollars so I figured for an extra 200 I can get the tranny rebuilt. Second was getting a new (rebuilt tranny) http://www.transdepot.net/AODE-Ford-Transmission-Stage-2-_p_288.html. The only reason I even considered getting a new tranny was mine is the original one that came with my car and it has over 100k miles on it and I would like the peace of mind knowing that it's new (it still shifts pretty smooth). I just want your opinions and ideas or whatever you have to offer me haha.

There were someone on here that did amazing tranny rebuilds... Maybe someone can chime in and remind me who it was.... I would do a full rebuild since it will be out of the car might as well.

Unless you need to absolutely rebuild the trans, I'd leave it until the trans tells you its time. Get that torque converter replaced, put in a higher stall one and you'll be happy.. Your gonna be lookin at a nice hunk if $$ for a aode rebuild

I would do a t5 swap but then I have to do all sorts of shit and hunt down a new computer I do not really want to go through all that. I think I am gonna end up getting a tci rebuild kit that comes with a tci shift kit thats like 420 dollars, B&M hammer ratchet shifter (because it looks awesome haha) 220 dollars, Mishomoto Tranny Fuild Cooler 85 dollars and a rebuild TQ convertor for like around 400 tops. I think I am looking at like 1300 ish dollars before labor, I will know 100% once I drop it off at Dez Racing and talk to them about what I want to do on top of fixing an existing problem that just arose. I figured why buy just the shift kit when thats like 200 dollars when I could get the complete rebuild kit and shift kit together for 400, I figure mine as well have it rebuilt. I would like to have the peace of mind everything on it is new and working correctly.
