Transmission swap.

My 95 GT has a few issues with the transmission, and rear axle. A friend of mine has a 89 fox body with C4 transmission and built rearend that was hit in the front and motor was used for another car and is looking to get rid of the rest of it. Would I be able to put the C4 and rearend into my 95 and what all would I need to change to get it to work?

The 8.8 works but you need to use sn95 axles ur brake plates and transfer over ur brakes super easy takes no time. My rear end is out of a faux boday. As for the trans yea you can make the c4 work but then ur down to a 3spd so with 3.55-3.73 gears I don't know how fun that will be on the highway

Would I need to use my axles if the rearend is already converted to 5 lug on the fox?

why do you want a C4? do you plan of making lots of horse power in the future?

The only thing that seems to be working well on my GT is the engine. As the fox body was bought for just the engine and the rest of the car was left at the shop figured if I could get the parts at a good price I could throw them into the GT and use it to play around with as I've got a 95 V6 that I do most my driving in. The transmission was supposed to have been built up around the time the engine was (couple thousand miles ago), and the rearend was done over with 4.10's. I know gas mileage on the highway will be crap, but for this car don't really care. If it's to difficult to get the transmission to work then also thinking I could throw the rearend onto the V6.

what brakes are on it ?ranger drums ? if the answer is yes then id just buy brackets from north race car for sn95 gt rear brakes or cobra whatever you have. on my fox i got custom made fox length axles with north race car brackets for cobra brakes
