I am getting my heads/cam put on this weekend and wanted to know what weight oil would be best for breaking them in? Should I change the oil sooner then normal and check for shaving/problems or just run it as normal? Never been this far into the motor before so forgive the newb questions. I went ahead and got the trickflow new-cam additive just to be safe, I want this stuff to last a long long time......

I was curious as to what the proper break-in period I should consider... I have no issue doing that I will just put 100 miles on it the first day then.............. I normally do not drive crazy anyway.

get some real cheap oil cheapest you can get put it in run your car for like 5 min drain it then put in what you would normally use change filter too. then after 300 then your normal oil chnge. this is how i broke mine in but i redid my whole engine not just the top end.

I do as previously stated:

After you do the heads/cam, fill it with basic oil (I use Ford Motorcraft) I start the car and let the car idle for about 10 minutes. Drain it and replace the oil with fresh oil (whatever you prefer, I used Mobile 1 or Castrol Syntec). I usually wait to make sure the heads seal correctly and have a few heat cycles. Then...go tear it up. :icon_rr:
