OK I switched trunk decks with a guy. His was a V6 with no pop open trunk button in glove box. Mine was a V8 trunk with button in glove box. But now my button does not pop open the trunk. Now my ? is does the wiring harness in the trunks matter? should I have switched the wiring harnesses also?

Does the solenoid still activate? Have you double-checked all the wiring?

The harness is different for Cobra (94-95) rear but sure can't tell you about the others

The trunks with the glove-box button have an additional mechanisim that the "buttonless" trunks didn't. You'll have to swap the
harnesses between the two trunks. The end plug for the harness is on the inside of the drivers side on the body (sort of opposite where
the gas door is, only inside the trunk). You'll have to unplug the harness, then feed it back through the trunk "cavities". It should be
a 5 min job to do both, and there are 3 8mm bolts holding the mechanisim to the trunk.
