Ok Im going to be putting in my motor probably in the next week. its a rebuild 5.0 with FTI Cam, GT40p heads, typhoon intake, 30lbs injectors, walbro 255lph and I'm going to buy a Pro-M re-cal maf for it and i was wondering would it be driveable if i get the re-cal maf? I know I'm going to need it tune later but I want to break in the motor first before i get it tuned. Im going to run nitrous later

It would run better with stock MAF , 24s and a chip , than with just a recalibrated MAF and injectors that are really a little too big for whats in the engine

I would have to agree , 24lb injectors would be better for your setup. The stock maf sensor wont work with 24lb injectors, though. It is set up for the stock 19lb. You can buy a summit maf sensor set up for 24lb injectors and tuned for a cold air intake if you have one. That would be the best way to go and it would run just fine. They only run like 200 bucks which is pretty cheap compared to some. I would reccomend this rather than recalibrating the stock maf. Either way it will run good enough to break it in, and then you can have it tuned, i don't like chips because when you remove them everything goes back to the way it was. When you have it tuned they can set it up to gain more power and they can turn the learning curve off so it won't try to adjust stuff on its own. Hope this helps!

24#er's BTW are enough for your setup, when you spray it switch the injectors to the 30's or maybe even 42's depending on how much you want to spray it, and get the chip retuned.

i'm going to agree that 30s are too big for the setup you're talking about, 24s will be fine. if you want to get around tuning it right now then buy a maf that's "matched" for your injectors. so when you order it make sure you get one for 24 or 30s depending on what you put in. you're nitrous kit should be matched to what you're looking for. i mean if you want something easy to install easy to manage buy a dry shot and let the fuel system take care of feeding it. the fuel pump you have with 24s will suffice, you might need to tune up the fuel pressure at the regulator (if you don't have an adjustable one, get one) but just read the plugs to be sure. that's before a tune of course, once it's tuned you can leave the pressure alone at whatever the tuner puts it to. a 125 horse dry shot is also the biggest dry shot i've seen. if you want more power than you can use a wet shot. 24lb injectors will still be fine because the fuel solenoid will take care of the extra load.

but the big question................what are your goals for the car? ppl will know how to better respond to the current combo you have.

very well said , you need to know what you want , all these parts wont do near what they are capable of without the best of the best everything. If you just want a little something extra then your on the right track , but if you want to run low 12s or even high 11's on your current motor your gonna need bigger heads, cam, intake, ignition, and fuel upgrades. and then you gotta help get all the power to the ground as efficiently as possible. You just gotta figure out what you want according to your budget and whether the car will see mostly track time or just the street or a combo of both. The best thing about our cars is the 5.0s response to mods and upgraded parts. They pick up good power and torque with the simplest mods. And you cant compare any other car to the sound of a 5.0 mustang with headers and flows!!!!!! Can I get an amen!?!?!?!
