I ran my old 91 lx with a 331 with no tune and HCI and just reset the idle and it ran fine. But if you want the most power and best drivability you're gonna need to get a dyno tune or you'll need to get a tweecer, anderson pms or something like that.

I like my megasquirt system.

costs less than tweecer, tunes better, is easier to use...the list of reasons goes on and on and on

I'm sorry just curious, why does your megasquirt tune better than a tweecer? when in a tweecer you find everything that was built in your factory ecu and it can all be changed.......plus a megasquirt is more expensive than a tweecer. hell even having a chip burned will be more expensive than a tweecer....but getting back to the topic you will need to have a some kind of tuning device or someone to tune it for you.... now personally i don't like to have any idiot messing with the health of my engine that is just my opinion. I got my tweecer for 520 shipped and ready to install..... but then again i already had a wideband O2 installed in the car. but basically my car ran like crap and with the 24lb injectors and pro-m mass air. i wsa fouling plugs left and right. so i decided to tune the car with a tweecer and it is the best investment you could think of.totally worth the. i desabled my egr and thermactor system, set my injector slopes and breaking point advanced timing electronically by 4 degrees and dialed in my mass air flow sensor and the car now runs a on a steady 12.5 Air Fuel Ratio at Wide Open Throttle and it cruises at 14.7 Air Fuel Ratio, so mileage has significantly increased and it runs like champ.... totally worth the money Just my 0.02 Cents..

look on ebay or in look mustang forums... I got mine here local off a forum for 300 bux used... and the guy threw in all the literature he had accumulated while researching his tuning. It took me about 6 months and I have gotten pretty good with it. If you get one and have questions PM me.

megasquirt is a standalone unit where as tweecer is still a piggyback.

I know a megasquirt is a standalone but that doesn't mean it is better, and a megasquirt is more expensive than the tweecer buying them both brand new so yea...... i can do the same things you do with your megasquirt.

megasquirt is way cheaper.. you can get everything you need from diyautotune.com for less than 200 dollars complete (minus wideband 02) Tweecer is not bad by anymeans but I think megasquirt once you learn the basics is more user friendly in terms off adjusting your injector pulse widths and seeing how your car reacts to mods in real time. It just has better hardware in terms of processing power compared to tweecer. I've used them both and I'm not working for either company. Megasquirt is WAY MORE COMPLICATED. You have to build the damn thing yourself and build a tune from scratch. Whereas tweecer is at least just plug and play for the most part. So tweecer is more user friendly on the install but once installed Megasquirt is easier to tune. Both serve the same purpose. I don't know where you got megasquirt is more expensive...maybe if you get the most expensive version with everyoption plus the wideband then yea maybe. Or if your looking on ebay. Don't get so defensive just cuz your dropped 5 bills on something. Just cuz your spent money on it doesn't mean it the best bro. I call them like I see them....run down any termi's lately......?

LOL my bad man i was just saying and no, no termy's for breakfast so far i'm trying to tune the car for a 250 shot and 42 injectors so hopefully i'll see better times at the track and what not, either way what matters is that we got something to tune the cars with which is critical to the cars health.

trying to blow up your motor?? thats what I did. Before I built my combo I had a pretty sotck motor with a 200 shot that threw a rod. Just make sure your pulling global timing with your tweecer like mad before you do a 250. are you running a map sensor or still maf>

mine is a maf set up but so far i'm shotting a 175 and before the installation of my msd 6 digital and i had it set to 14 degrees advanced at daily driving but when i turn on my nitrous switch it retards my timing by 5 degrees so that puts it at nine TDC. i just purchased my tweecer like 2 weeks ago and the car runs at a beatiful 12.6 AFR at WOT but on nitrous i plan on running it like at an 11.2 AFR at WOT and retard timing like 8 degrees or something but i'll see what do you guys think.
