I would be weary about eBay kits...make sure the kit is 100%.

No it's not that low, but the car was fully tuned in, you would expect it to hold up a little better. The turbo was brand new and had zero shaft play. His motor was built too, low compression pistons, forged rods, all the goodies lol, so he could handle the boost, it could have even been a faulty turbo, but just puttin it out there, hate to see someone go through all that work, then still have to buy more parts and do it again.97 king cobra said:Crone said:I have a friend that bought a turbo kit off ebay, came with just about the same things, and it blew after he ran it for about three months. The exaust wheel blew apart at 14psi. :angry7: You deffinatly get what you pay for. You would probaly be better off peicing it together yourself. Bewtween craigslist and ebay you could probaly get alot of nice good condition quality used parts pretty cheap. It was on a 240 though not a mustang, but still it was tuned in by a shop, so it wasn't poor tuning that blew it.
14 psi, is not a low boost setting by any standard, im sure if you use a lot of these kits within a respectable range8-10 psi they will hold up decently. Again you get what you pay for, you cant expect to pay 2k for a brand new kit and make 600hp on 18-20 psi.... even if they advertise that the kit can do it.
