turbo kits

they look not to bad, but it really cheap?

eh, i dunno. its prolly gonna be one of those things where you get what you pay for. i cant even imagine the fitment issues that youll prolly run into. i think i remember seeing hose clamps to hold the pipes together?? not something i would want on my turbo piping

i wouldnt get that kit unless i had a welder. it looks like and im sure the reason it is so cheap is because it just comes with tubing for you to fabricate yourself. it doesnt say the kind of turbo it is. i also am not the most educated on turbos either. it also says that you need to buy the down pipe seperate or make your own.

honestly, i would probably buy it, and if the turbos truely are junky, just sell them for somthing else...

but i can almost guarantee it will be a you get what you pay for type deal.

A guy in my local club buy a kit like these for a Fox Mustang, he never be able to install it properly, nevertheless he got lot of knowledge in mechanic but I'm not sure these kit is complete, his kit is for sale now.

i would do a diy turbo setup...which is the route im taking when i do mine, the guy im buying the 96 gt from is a dealer for Precision so he can get me a pretty good deal on that and the tubing

Then just little BS like tubing, silicone couplers, t-bolt clamps for said couplers, v-band flanges, turbo flange, oil drain flange, oil drain line, oil feed line, oil feed fittings, o2 bungs...

That little BS like clamps and lines just added up to 600 for me...

But yeah that kit sucks, because you have to get your own header's, and no one who makes turbo kit's is selling the hotside pieces, because then they would get cut out. SO you have to go on an endless search, and it sucks.

Yup! That stuff is not always readily available.

I'm about to get a set of SVO header's and go to town with the welder. Everyone is such a douche about selling the hotside piping, I'll make some and sell it. Tractor turbo FTW!!!

Untrue, lol. I make transmissions now, and people either blow them up foolishly because their dumb hillbilly's who don't understand the statement "Hook up the kickdown cable and adjust it right or you WILL blow up your trans" then try to blame me (rare, only happened twice but still gave me stress). Or they want you to make more, converter's, transfercases... It start's to become a job at some point.

Not really sure about how to find a balance, I am considering going at it full tilt, but it's a mixed bag.

I feel good now, lol. Lot's of satisfied customer's compared to two unsatisfied. That kind of thing just bug's me, if I do something I do it right, not half assed.

Im thinking of buying another 96-98 GT thats in crappy condition, and use it for a test mule for a turbo kit i want to make. if it goes well id send it into production. it wont be for another year though or so.

And dont buy ebay brand turbo kits thats just a big NO NO.

That one is just a collection of pipes and no hotside, lol. And no one sells the hotside, but it would be easy for make, for cheap too. People would bitch about it, but they can just keep bitching and stay slow if they want.
