Ooooh, she thicc.
3.55’s don’t make a well balanced car it’s a little deeper then that . If gears steeper then 3.55’s make it hard to drive you can’t drive good in the first place .Tame? Oh no not a car that's well balanced and easy to drive how terrible!![]()

Nothing wrong with preferring charcoal grills buddy , can’t beat the flavour .Yep I can't drive good, can't please a woman, heck I can't even cook a hotdog on a gas grill. Anyway..

Not hard to drive, rather annoying - lots more noise from all the RPM, especially on the highway.3.55’s don’t make a well balanced car it’s a little deeper then that . If gears steeper then 3.55’s make it hard to drive you can’t drive good in the first place .
I wish I had that same problem, my car can't break loose in a straight line lolI run all seasons, naturally aspirated and have to pretend there's an egg under my foot in 1st with 3.08's .
Yes, 3.55's are the max I would ever go in a Fox/SN95. The 4V benefits big time for sure with 4.10's or more, but you are just sacrificing the drivability. You end up with a car that makes a racket everywhere it goes, while not being all that much faster, if any. With my 3.08's for example, I can shift it just below 2000 RPM to keep up with daily traffic in my area. When I am doing 30-35 MPH, it stays in 4th and just cruises along at 1200-1400 RPM. On the highway doing 60, I am at 1700 RPM give or take a couple turns. Keeps the car quiet when the garage has given me a headache already.Again though, the Mach 1 is not a 96-98 4V.
3000RPMs to keep up with traffic? Not sure I'm following you.
3.55 is your max gear you would ever use? You're missing out, unless you plan on driving a pushrod 5.0 for the rest of your life.
This whole statement sounds like it's coming from someone who has never gone beyond a 3.55 gear. The 4V benefits big time for sure with 4.10's or more, but you are just sacrificing the drivability. For a guy with his first Mustang he’s heavily opinionated on 3.55’s being the max gear when he’s still got stock gears .This whole statement sounds like it's coming from someone who has never gone beyond a 3.55 gear.
You're not "racing around town". You're actually in a higher gear and lower RPM when cruising around town.
I'm not trying to argue with you, but just no.
True, first Mustang lol, but not first car. I am just saying many people end up regretting putting ring and pinion in their cars. You've seen it on the forums I'm sure. I like my gears long legged! I could use 5th in town, but then what about the highway? There is no 6th so it is going to be a buzzy ride! And getting up to 5th when starting in 2nd may not be too bad, but starting in 1st, and you need to turn a lot of RPM to not hold up anyone behind you. I already said how I felt about using second gear to start. This whole statement sounds like it's coming from someone who has never gone beyond a 3.55 gear.

4.10's and a T56 is a very well thought out combo. 4.10's with a T5/T45? Not so much right? The 4.10 in my car with a T-56 Magnum having 0.5 6th gear is the best of both. A blast, really.
Ha, that is just perfect because I am that exact 20 year old that has fun at night after college. Yeah shorter gears would definitely make it more fun, and I absolutely believe 3.73 and a 4V is a ton of fun.I would agree, but if you're a 20-something just hooning around at night after college class lets out.....yeah.
Just my opinion based off past experience, a 96-98 4v rocking a 3.73 and a stock T-45 is a freaking good time.
Impossible, a 3.55 with a 26” tire should be 2400-2500 RPM with a 0.68. I turn more than that with 3.08s and a 25.7 inch tire..68 overdrive here my car turns like 1800rpm at 75mph in 5th with 3.55’s on a 26” tire not ideal . My cobra with factory 3.27’s would peg the speedo in 4th gear .
