I know you guys just LOVE hearing about the misfortunes I've had with this car. So without any further ado here's the latest:

Now obviously this does not suggest failure on Lincoln's quality for these cars but it does add to the long list of unfortunate things that has happened to me with this car lol. Luckily (or in some sense unlucky) this was a rear tire or I would be entangled with a guardrail right now. I was doing over 80mph when I must of picked up a nail in the tread. The car started driving weird then all of a sudden I knew it was a flat so I pulled over to find this! I guess the rim sliced through the side wall when I was driving on it flat. :dontknow:

Just went out to verify the tire size i need to order and saw "Made in Japan" written on the sidewall. Yeah i'm fine, little scarey changing a tire on the small shoulder of a busy highway on the drivers side!

my 85t-bird did the same thing at about 120 racing against (and losing) my buddy's IS300. it was pretty wobbily and i thought "its an old car" to myself but sure enough the tires weren't ready for that speed lol drove it another 2.5 miles on the rim back on base :headbang:

Damn that sucks... The other day my work truck started vibrating around 60 mph..... I was on my way back to the store to tell my boss I wasnt driving this shit anymore that something was about to break.. As I thought that, POP!!!!!!!!!! I didnt know what it was... I was going around 30mph on the entrance ramp and it just pulled to the left.. I controlled it and steered to the right up over the curb in the grass median ( This was in between 2 main highway entrances here in jersey ) Yeah.. No fun.. Turn out it was just a blowout like there was a bubble in the tire... The truck has 277,000 miles on it....... AND IT WONT DIE!

i hate how they built the highways around here. theres less than 2ft of shoulder space (when there's any), and when youre driving in the left hand lane, youre less than 6" from the median.

Christ that is a weird tire blow out! My brother did the same thing with my car, but DROVE it 5 km from the freeway to a few blocks from our house back when he owned it with the waffle wheels. The tire was literally shredded and was almost on the rim. What lincoln do you own? LS?

I have had the same thing happen to me in my old civic. It happened on my left front and it came apart pretty similar but the tire got the inside of the wheel well and somehow partially opened it up to the cabin area near the pedals. Glad to hear your ok.

steve, your thoughts on dry humping that rail with your car would be a pretty accurate assumption if it was a front tire instead. thats how i wrecked my last car. blew out a tire coming around a bend, and the way i was going, i had no control of the car when the tire went out, and ran it off the road into a telephone pole. needless to say, if the car is anywhere, it has a nice home in a junkyard somewhere.

You're telling me!! In a certain sense i wish it had ran into the guardrail then somehow wrapped itself around a tree all without myself or my passenger being harmed in anyway shape or form only to be able to collect the insurance money then I could buy a sweet car that doesn't break. BUT since life isn't a cartoon show I'm glad it panned out the way it did lol.

Yeah the roads around here SUCK, period! I've never seen such horrible road conditions in any other state i've been in. Granted I haven't been many places but we have so many potholes and uneven blacktop. It's a complete joke! Not to mention the 2ft wide shoulders in some areas. Also when they do finally do road work around here they manage to forget to put up signs warning drivers of rather large potholes, then someone comes cruising along in a semi-sweet mustang (preferably black) and hits the hole in tern bending his semi-decent 18" wheels.

I found it rather odd myself lol! Maybe it was poor tire quality or just the way i drove on it at such a high rate of speed. Yes it is an LS

theyre spending all the damn tax money on wrecking buildings for that useless 202 bypass that they'll never actually put up, because theyve been talking about it for 30 years and nothing has ever come from it. that, and the plan to widen the extension to 3 lanes from mid-county to allentown, which will take them 5-7 years to do at the rate that they do everything else around here, and its completely pointless. the only time the extension gets any delays is when there's accidents, which would backup a 3 lane highway just the same.
