Upper rad hose???

The upper rad hose on my 95 cobra has gotten to become rock hard when the car warms up, what could cause this? I put a new 180 thermostat in, and im hoping its not a head gasket.

if you have a temp gun, take temps of the radiator in different spots and also the temp of the upper and lower rad hose.
